Verona, city of love and romance
Not only is Verona full of historical treasures, it’s also famous as a city of love, thanks to Shakespeare making this the setting for his play Romeo & Juliet.
Indeed, Juliet’s balcony and Romeo’s tomb are just two of the famous tourist sites in the city, which include an ancient Roman arena still used today for pop concerts and opera performances, bustling marketplaces and shopping areas, and a host of great places to eat.
This freshwater lake is one of the largest and prettiest in western Europe. Lined with villas, Roman ruins and fascinating museums, this is a great place to unwind when outside of the season.
In the summer the lake is a great place to go walking, boating and people-watching.
What’s new to say about Venice? A maze of canals and waterways. An architectural wonder. One of the most popular tourist destinations in the world…
All this and more, Venice is simply one of those cities you must visit in your lifetime, at least once.
Less than two hours away from us by road or rail, we’re perfectly placed for a day trip into the city – without you having to pay the dazzlingly high prices charged for staying there overnight!
